Dr. Desh Beer Singh is presently Principal Scientist (Horticulture) and Head VC &F at ICAR-Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture, Srinagar; J&K. He did his M.Sc (Horticulture) from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, Punjab and Ph.D (Horticulture) from Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra. His field of specialization is production and post harvest management of horticultural produce and its value addition. Further he has obtained advanced training from USDA, USA in the field of conservation of plant genetic resources and from RAS, Moscow (Russia) in the field of post harvest management of horticultural produce. Dr. Singh has also identified a new species of banana and several unexploited tribal fruits from forests of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
He has published more than 110 research papers and contributed 14 bulletins, 15 book chapters, 05 books besides 55 presentations in national and international conferences (2 presentations awarded as best paper).

Prof. Nazeer Ahmed is serving as Director at ICAR-Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture (CITH), Srinagar and before that he was at SKUAST (K), Srinagar where he worked for 22 years at various capacities as Scientist, Senior Scientist, Associate Director Research, Professor and Head, Dean Agriculture and also as Director Resident Instruction cum Dean Post Graduate Studies. During 29 years of service, he has contributed significantly as a teacher, researcher, extension worker and administrator. As teacher, he taught and designed both UG and PG courses and guided more than hundred Master’s and PhD’s as Chairman and Co-Chairman and was instrumental in establishment of Faculty of Horticulture at SKUAST (K).
