'Alzheimers Disease (AD) is one of the common forms of Dementia and it is a major cause of concern all over the world. It is a neurodegenerative disorder which has been playing the role of the angel of slow death for more than a century. Although much research has been carried in many parts of the world for the last several decades but no head way has been made as yet in finding a cure for this disease. This book is a humble attempt to understand and unravel the mystery of Alzheimers Disease under the perspective of amyloid cascade hypothesis. Dr. Elizabeth Rosalind Thomas, did her graduation at St. Edmund's College, Shillong; post graduation at St. Anthony's College, Shillong; and PhD in the Laboratory of Molecular Neuroscience, Kunming University for Science and Technology (KUST), Kunming, China. She worked for a DST project on "Integrating herbal medicine of NER with contemporary approaches to develop therapeutic strategies for metabolic syndrome" at the Department of Biotechnology, North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, during 2018-19.
