It is a neurodegenerative disorder which has been playing the role of the angel of slow death for more than a century. Although much research has been carried in many parts of the world for the last several decades but no head way has been made as yet in finding a cure for this disease. About the Author/Editor

Dr. Elizabeth Rosalind Thomas, did her graduation at St. Edmund's College, Shillong; post graduation at St. Anthony's College, Shillong; and PhD in the Laboratory of Molecular Neuroscience, Kunming University for Science and Technology (KUST), Kunming, China. She worked for a DST project on "Integrating herbal medicine of NER with contemporary approaches to develop therapeutic strategies for metabolic syndrome" at the Department of Biotechnology, North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, during 2018-19. At present she is working in VRDL-ICMR funded research project at Department of Microbiology, NEIGRIHMS, Shillong.
